Electras on the way up?

Well Gents I feel like I've been taken advantage of. I just unlocked the bags and found the registration dated 2007 and the mileage listed as 7280. Obviously the speedo has been hacked. In a way it's alright as the lady who owned it ( husband died) has early stages of dementia so maybe her thoughts weren't on target but I'm still upset although it's going to make a great winter project. Question for all. Do you think I should leave as is and repair what's needed or do a complete resto? The paint and most chrome will come back but some stuff needs to be either replaced or re-chromed. Await the thoughts of all especially those who have gone through a project like this.

You do know that is not the original speedometer...looks like it has been repainted.
Nice find...you didn't get hurt on the price...but I don't it is the low mileage museum piece you were thinking...my 84 is on it's third speedo.

I'd say that since the find is not quite what you thought you found you need to decide what you want the bike to be for you.
It seems likely to me that the deeper you get into it the more non original stuff you will find. If you want a historical restore that may be a problem. If you want something to show and ride or simply ride the no. Stock stuff won't matter as much.
It's still a fun find and will likely be a fun build. Good luck.

As Far as the paint , there are enough chips in it to show the primer and no other color. A few of the items I removed just show the pint as original.
I appreciate the information your about to give me. Thank you.
