Default Road King or street glide

Hey, looking for some opinions on choosing a new bike. Just sold my 05 Road King to my Uncle and I'm shops for a new ride. Torn between getting a used 14 street glide and a new Road King with candy paint. I like the 107 and have enjoyed my RK. I travel on it a lot and would like the radio. Asking opinions from people who have made the switch to the bat wing. I honestly hate giving up the view of the road.

My first and most memorable impression of going from a RKC to a SG was the Batwing feels less sporty because it felt heavier. Not heavy, just heavier. That will be amplified a lot going from an 05 to anything 09 and newer.

Other than that, I think change is fun, so just going from a non fairing bike to a fairing bike was fun. That being said, I have since owned more RKs than fairing bikes. I like them both.

While you're looking, I'd look at a '14 Road Glide as well. I think the handling will be more akin to the King than you think.

Honestly, if I were looking TODAY, I'd give the King another look. I thought I'd love the radio too. And while I DO enjoy it sometimes, especially on long trips, I find it spends more time off than on.

Obviously ride them and see what you like. I've had several of both, started with SG and about 5 years ago road a RG while on a trip. Won't ride anything else. One thing that is kind of odd is how cramped I now feel when I sit on a SG.

I'm sorry, I misread the original email. Thought you meant RG and now see RK.

I have both.....just bought a new '17SGS coming and kept my '05 RK.....for long trips the SGS is nice, and it rides so much better than my RK....in fact i switched my RK Pak to the SGS....anyway radio on the fairing is great at low speed around town, unless you blast the radio is worthless at 75-80 mph....i bought the '17 for the new m8 motor and something a little different then the King.....to me not that much difference.
Making the King my solo ride....too much upgrades that i could never get my cash back.
Making my SGS my dual ride with the wife...

Best bet is to rent each bike you're interested in for a day, and put each one through their paces. Most dealers will apply the rental to the purchase price.

The King has an advantage of having a detachable fairing, if you so choose. You can choose whatever stereo you want with them.

In my opinion the biggest difference is up front as they both handle well.
Do you want a removable windshield and a classic look or do you want a fixed windscreen with stereo, GPS & more gauges
