Default 2006 Harley Davidson Road King Police FLHPI Luggage

Hello,
I just installed the King Travel Pack on my 2006 Road King Police FLHPI, and now I cannot open the saddle bags as they hit the trunk.
I'm working with my local dealer on this problem, but also wanted to ask here in this forum if anyone has installed a similar product with success?
Maybe the 2014 or later King travel Pack with slanted sides would provide enough clearance for the saddle bag lid?

Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of us have done it - you simply need to lift the tourpak about 2" on the mounting rack, to provide enough clearance for the lids to open fully. I don't have my bags or tourpak on the bike at present, otherwise I could take a photo.

The last thing I want is a higher center of gravity ..... might be the only option though.
Lets see what the dealership comes back with....as they said they would make it right.

You have 3 options.

1) raise your tourpack up 2 inches

2) get new saddlebags with standard lids

3) You could try a 2014+ tourpack, but they may still need a riser.

I have an 07 Road King with a 2010 Tourpak. I have the factory hard saddle bags on my bike. As far as I know the frames are the same. I have no interference between the bag lids and the tourpak. Now I do have a quick detach tourpak so maybe that sits higher. Something to. look into though. Good luck

I also have the quick detach mount. I'll look into the 2010 luggage.
Thanks !

I have a 2013 with a 2010 pack and spacers(Not sure on size, came with bike.) And the lids still scrape the trunk if I don't squeeze them past. Will try to remember measuringwhen I get home

2011 TP on 2004 FLHRI. Small spacer between the mount plate and U shape bar. Standard bags. The lids pull back a little after unlatching, giving me all the clearance I need.

Raised 3/4" and still hitting lid.
Working with local dealer for a solution.

I might try a 2" riser.....but I think it's just too high to raise everything.

Do you have police bags? I think that's his problem and the difference.
