Default 2009 Ultra Classic Tour Pack Antenna Removal

I purchased a set of stubby antennas to replace the long ones, but cannot figure out how to remove the originals. I have found some Youtube videos showing sliding up a rubber cover and loosening set screw to remove the old antenna, but mine does not appear to be the same. Anyone ran into this and can share some knowledge?

thanks,

David

On my '09 EG Classic the radio antenna(left side)didn't have set screw. It should just unscrew. Here's pic with it off. I put black vacuum cap to cover it as I have hidden antenna in faring.

I just spun my antenna's off recently on mine, no set screws at all. Good luck on those stubbies, I just did it, and radio cuts out occasionally, and that's close to the city riding.

Thanks for the replies. Figured it out, the old ones were rusted on. It took a pair of vice grips to break them loose. New stubbies are on.

That was my next suggestion, ha ha. Let us know if you have any less reception on the radio if you don't mind, I'm curious now that mine are causing cut out occasionally. Never experienced that with the stock antennas. Might as well went with knock off's if that's the case.

I will keep you posted, but rarely listen to the radio while riding, mainly changed these for the looks. I wear a full face helmet and my hearing is shot. Reception could cut out and I may never know. Here is a link to the product purchased. Made in the USA.

Just tried the reception in the garage and all seems very good.

Thanks, mine also, it was while riding I noticed the cut out. If you remember, great, if not, safe riding.

I will try and remember, but memory is similar to my hearing. Thanks
