Well just mad my final swap and picked up a mint Rootbeer 2011 FLHTK. The previous owner couldn't have been any more meticulous. Looks showroom.


Its got 26 k on the OD and just received 25k service and is ready to roll. I am pretty new to Harley's aside from my VROD Muscle. Anything I need to really be worried about or any must have mods? It's pretty stock except for a stage one and some cosmetic upgrades. Looking forward to putting a lot of miles on this ride.

The one mod I'd like to do is to turn the Touring Pack into a quick release. I've looked at the HD site and it offers a couple different options. Some with relocations turn signals to the bags , relocating the license plate and antennas. Any recommendations? Not against an after market solution there either.

Awesome color! I would get with biketronics for a after market radio adapter with a radio of your choice and upgraded speakers. I have the quick detach for the your pack but I never take it off.

 

I just got one a week ago also same bike only my has 42k miles 700 miles of my own already. Just got a new mustang seat for it will put it on tomorrow.
Love the bike so far. coming from a xl1200c.

I have the exact same bike. 2011 FLHTK Root beer color. Great ride! The only mod I did was to change out the seat to a Hammock seat. I do a lot of tour riding. I did have an issue a few weeks ago where the shifter shaft broke off (not stripped) but everyone said that must have been a manufacture defect because no one has ever heard of that happening. The previous owner did a lot of chrome accessories and had the quick release kit for the tour pack. I rarely take the tour pack off though. 28K miles and plan to put 100K on it.

If it has Stage one, (header - mufflers - air cleaner - Tuner), what tuner is on the bike and does it have a good tune? Our bikes run great with the DynoJet Power Vision.

 

Thanks guys. I gotta admit. I was worried about the color based on the pics when I was eying it up. All doubts were removed when I saw it in person. It's definitely a color you need to see in person to appreciate.


Has a tall boy seat (and the original). I am 6" 1" so kinda on the border with that.

And yes it does have the power vision.
