Default Is it possible to change tuners

My 08 street glide has the SERT on it now. My question is can I use a different tuner like a dynojet pv tuner or do I need a new ECM?

Once you choose your tuner, back up the "original" map of the tune on the ECM. I can't tell you for sure if you can use PV on a SERT tune. However, if it's a Delphi ECM, you should be able to back up the SERT tune on the ecm and proceed with new tunes set up on the PV.

The PCV is "downstream" of the ecm. If installed over a SERT tune, the PCV can be adjusted to compensate for the changes made to the ecm, by the SERT.

Y'all may be talking about two different tuners PV is The Flash tuner. Pcv is the piggy back type.

If can Flash the bike back to stock you can use the PV for sure. I do not know if it'll flash over the sert.

A flash tuner just overwrites, so not a big deal. Doesn't matter what tune is on the ecm.

So which tuner would be the best to do this?

I'm partial to the PowerVision Tuner by DynoJet. Get it from FuelMoto and you'll have support from both FuelMoto and DynoJet.

I find the PV tuner very easy to use, and you can leave the PV hooked up for an additional gauge pod.... I don't use it like that, but many people do.....

I might be overly cautious,,, I had the Dealer flash the ECM back to stock before I changed Tuners,,, 'Felt that it would give a known starting point for the new Tuner / Dyno Guy...

'Hopefully some Dyno Guys will chime in??

I own a powervision and have used it to tune several friends bikes. It's a flash tuner and will overwrite the tune on the ECM, but it also saves that tune before overwriting so it can be taken back to stock or whichever tune was on it. A few of the bikes had previously used the SERT and some were stock. Fuel Moto as suggested above is a great place to buy from and they offer all the support you could need on it.
