Selling harley that is financed through harley financial
IF i wanted to sell my bike what would be the process. It is financed through harley financial. I currently owe $4100 on my RG. I dont have the funds to pay off the loan without taking out a personal loan at my credit union. Id like to hear from any of you that have experience in selling or buying a financed bike

I sold my ultra yesterday with the same issue. I had the guy get two cashier checks. One to harley credit with my account number on it. And one to me for the balance. I provided him with a print out of the pay off and account number. (You can get online). Placed check in envelope and will next day Monday. Should have the title in 10-15 days. I also wrote a bill of sale. No big deal.

No real difference tnan selling any vehicle that's still financed. I really think it has more to do with the buyer. If you get cash then you pay off the loan and keep the difference. If they have to finance then their lender is going to require your loan info and will likely write two checks. One to you and one to you and your finance company jointly. I'm sure if you call HD and/or the buyers finance company they can tell you exactly what has to happen.

I've done both. When I bought my last RK, I took the seller cash and we both went to his bank. He paid off his balance of the loan. The bank filled out a bill of sale. I think they had the title and signed it over to me right there (from memory). That went very smooth.
I sold another mc and the buyer paid cash and I wrote out him a notarized bill of sale and he took it home. Then I paid off the loan and once I got the title (two weeks later) I sent it to him via UPS. It took good faith on his part that I would get the title and send it to him. For him, he knew who I was employed with and knew I'd make good on it.
The credit union I've done business with was always slow in getting the title to me on several occasions.
