I replaced my carlini beach bars with some 14 inch wild one apes.....
Not sure I did the right thing......
Tarkus60 Wich bars do you feel were more comfortable? I was not sure wich route to take as far as beach bars or 19 inch apes. I do like the way they both look! For now, I am happy with the Burlys.

I cant make a decision is my problem...The beach bars were just fine. Slow speed turns can get funky like in a gas station ....
The apes are ....my back does feel good and left arm, throttle hand keeps going numb....
Handling twisties goes to the apes.

Tarkus60 The good thing is we know our wires and cables are long enough for us to switch between apes and beach bars. Im sure I am going to try some 16" apes in the future. I like the way apes look too! Thanks for the comparison.

Heres a different view of the 38.5" Burly beach bars Burly bars and 39" fish tail pipes
Man I dig those bars...I think a bit more pullback than my carlini's.
That is bike to be proud of!!!!
The 21 in front do you like it?
I do long rides , I wonder how it feels 2 up with gear at 75 mph......

Tarkus60 thanks for the great comment. I am proud of my bike and even more proud that i have done all the work myself. I do like my 21" front wheel and I'm sure you would be fine riding 2up at 75mph with gear. I think the 21" front handles pretty good. I do believe the Burly bars have more pullback than the Carlinis. Thanks
WoW, great job. Very nice of you to post the install. Electrical scares most people, good sketches of the pin location like you did, is perfect. Great photos too.... Looks great on the Road King, take care and ride safe.
Beautiful ride! I always love reading about someone tackling a job like that themselves AND having it turn out great!
Quick question: your chrome switch housings? Did you do those? Where did you get them? I'm having a difficult time finding ones with just the cruise openings and NOT the extra openings for radio/CB.
Here's my 08 road king classic with stock bars
Hi everyone. I am fairly new to this site and decided to replace my stock bars with some Burly Beach Bars. I will be wiring them internally and also going to re-install my H.D heated grips also with the wiring inside the bars. I will be attaching pictures that may help others with this year and model bike. This will be my first thread and hope i am doing it right. Lopezluna
Man thats amazing. I am just wondering what size length cables did you switch out to? Im doing the same thing and I want to rip it apart, as fast as possible so I hoping maybe you kno The amount of oversize that you used for the cables. I am positive the stock cables will not work. I purchased some 42 inch wide beach bars from custom craft. Well, if you are still around, just let me know if you can please. That would be great. I appreciate it and your bike looks amazing.
Hi, I used the same clutch cable. I just pulled a lil slack from front of frame. The brake cable lenght I cannot remember. I know I bought it a lil longer and coiled the extra under the headlight nacelle. Hope this helps
