Default What were the first upgrades you performed on your touring model?

Greetings, folks...

I am curious as to what you fellow touring model owners considered to be necessary upgrades to your bikes...whether from a safety standpoint, longevity of parts, performance based, or creature comfort.

I own a 2005 Ultra Classic, and it has been suggested that I invest in a bagger brace (or equivalent), direct gears in lieu of stock cam chain tensioners, and several other tidbits.

I'd be interested in knowing what YOU considered "must have" upgrades to your bikes.

Thank you for your time.

Better tunes... but be wary of that rabbit hole, it takes an infinite amount of $$.

Performance, ($2.3 K minimum) suspension ($1200)which needs completely replaced IMO, sound as in tunes like a good stereo ($1k minimum) and some cosmetic work depending on which way you go...

The first thing I've done to my last three tour bikes was big sucker A/C, true duals exhaust, and a better tune. That usually gets the ball rolling and then it never stops...
