Why not just put a detachable kit on your tour pack and buy some SG rear shocks.
From my understanding that's the big difference between the touring models.
This is way when the wife wants to ride you're ready in 10 mins. When she doesn't want to ride you're ready in 10 mins.
I have tossed around around the idea of trading my heritage for a street glide but the more I look the better an ultra sounds as you can strip it and have a SG.

I did the Electra Glide Classic route and stripped off to a styled Street Glide. Detachable trunk mount makes best of both worlds with stock seat in place. Likely adding solo seat for around town style. 12" Progressive 412 shocks worlds ahead of 13" air units.

The Ultra can be dressed down as a SG but i dont like the wheels or fenders on the Ultra when it is dressed down. IMO it was better to start with the street glide and add what i wanted or liked about the ultra. The stock 12 in shocks wasnt horrible for my wife but could be approved so we added JNR Designed air ride and ez up center stand, passenger floor boards, sissy bar and later the chopped tour pack with the wrap around backrest. I went with the detached but i have not took it off. I find myself needing it too much.
