If it is year old, you are OK, if it is 2 or 3 years old, i would replace it.... Especially if you are heading to Sturgis !

The ONLY time I ever use the kill switch is when parking on a steep incline and wanting to leave it in 1st gear, thus needing to have both feet on the ground with both hands busy operating the front brake and clutch. Use kill switch, release clutch, then front brake, then turn ignition off and kill switch back on...
2 years ago me and a buddy went into the Daytona Flea Market. We parked on an incline in grass and went inside. Came back about an hour later and all I got was ....NOTHING!!!!!! Battery was dead. Thank goodness, Jon had jumper cables. He pulled them out, we took off our seats, and hooked up the cables, started the bike, and away we went!
But, I'll never forget the look JON gave me when he didn't hear that bike crank up....something like " You dumbaZZ!" . I have NEVER again forgotten to turn the ignition switch off!!! LOL!!!
