Maybe shrink wrap it - a boatyard could probably do that for you fairly inexpensively. As for a "cover", I'd never do that. I don't care how well-fitted the cover is, it's going to flap in the wind and going to act like a high-speed "buffer".

It'll destroy the paint.

We had a vette Shrink wrapped and shipped from the midwest to the PNW in the winter. The paint was worn off on every edge. Get an enclosed trailer or pay someone to transport it.

Destroyed the paint on my wife's brand new bicycle by putting a tarp over it (and mine) in the back of my pickup taking them on a trip. She was NOT happy.

Bike on trailer uncovered, haul to NY. When you get where you're going, wash the salt off.

Check out www.skn-it.com. Click on Harley Davidson and then on their travel cocoon. I just trailered my Ultra Limited from San Diego to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado and back. Close to 3000 miles. Not a scratch or mark on the bike. They are HD owners and guarantee there covers will not scratch your bike. The cover is not cheap approx. $279 but works as advertised. Give them a call and ask questions. There are quite helpful.

Do like I did and get an enclosed trailer. Not that expensive and when you get there your baby will be clean and ready to ride.

I bought a "travel cocoon" cover from www.skn-it.com for my Road Glide. I trailered it on a 3000 mile round trip. The travel cocoon cover won't damage your paint and keeps prying eyes off your bike.

Yep, they do work. When I had my VRod opened trailered it from NJ to Myrtle Beach without any paint or chrome damage.
