Default RE: replacement antenna

Try the Tune Trapper or hidden digital antenna from Crutchfield (same one as Dakota Digital hidden antenna except cheaper). I have the one from Crutch and it works ok but the Tune Trapper is supposed to be better so I will be giving that a shot next. I ditched the whip and tucked away the wires. The hidden ones go under the fairing. Just remove the fairing and windshield screws and stick it in there on top of the radio and plug it in to the back.

here is an article with some antennatests:

I just ordered one of these. There are plenty of discussions here about replacement antennas.

I bought mine at Advance Auto Parts for $9.00 came with different size adapters as well.

Remove old one and install the new one and never had any problems picking up local radio statons

Some people just remove the antenna and cut off 12 to 18 inches from the bottom and re install it

I cut my stock antenna down to about 18". Fair reception if close to town. I listen to either the wind or a CD on my Hog Tunes most of the time, so the radio antenna is low on my list of things to do. Looking at cruise control next.

Bought this one from Auto Zone for $7. It's rubberized and actually works quite well.
