32°f is my limit. Did 100 miles yesterday broken in 20miles started out @35° then to 39° Never saw or heard of anouther bike out. One of the places was Rocky's where I got some red line shock proof do to end coming near. Got two snowmobile trail permits. One year was riding bike one week and snowmobiling the next. Hope to do that this year and even get a few short rides in this winter on the bike, figured the way these temps go up and down like they do I'll keep insurance on year round. Wear full face in these temps and a teckvest (snowmobile protection) and other warm gear.

I rode around town at midnight at 0 deg just to say I done on my new '82 CBX.
I was forced to ride a week in freezing weather 45 miles one way(dark both ways). Had to make several stops to clear shield and thaw.('80 CBX)

Did a fall color ride from Detroit up to traverse city took 13 hours to get there. Started out at 20 Dec. Went down from there. No highways all the way there and 12 hours back 2 days later. Looked like the Michelin man i was bundled up to tight. Nothing heated on anything. Only a windshield. Never again. Not worth it.

A number of years ago I hopped on my BMW R1100R and intended to ride to my Dad's place in Arkansas (from Wisconsin) for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately it was unseasonably cold - 18 degrees. I layered up and figured if I could make it to St Louis it would warm up. I entered hypothermia about 80 miles from home. I pulled into a McDonalds, had some food and hot coffee, and said screw it. Rode home. Coldest 80 miles of my life. Took me 2 days to feel warm again.

Years later Cheryl and I rode to North Carolina in the Fall. An early snow storm moved in, and cold temps along with it. We had to change our plans to go to the Smokies because they were under 2 feet of snow. The ride home was in the lower teens. But we were on the Street Glide with that big batwing, soft lowers, and heated gear. What a difference from that BMW with no heated gear. We were able to cover a lot of miles in relative comfort. Funny thing was, when we got back to Wisconsin it was 60+ degrees. Go figure.

Tomahawk WI fall color run 2014. Left milwaukee, 42 degrees and a light drizzle 330 pm. 5 hours later arrived in tomahawk, 33 degrees at 830 pm, dark and steady rain. Not down pour but enough to chill me right to the bone with leather jacket and chaps and rain gear with long underwear. Should have only been about 3-3 1/2 hours. Had to keep stopping to thaw out at gas stations. Rest of the weekend in the 60's but it was the coldest ride I have ever done by a long shot.
