Default Newer exhaust on older bike

Looking for some information. I have a 2008 glide going to run 2009 up exhaust, I have the 2009 up oil pan need to know where to drill and tap my 2008 tranny case for the exhaust bracket

Is that OEM or did you drill and tap ?

Not mine, but not OEM. It was drilled and tapped to accept 2009 exhaust bracket.

Just so you know, 2009 head pipe is the only year that has the large O2 sensors that are on your 2008. 2010 and newer have the small ones down by the collector.

Would it just be easier to buy the head pipe from Fuel Moto that they have that fits the older bikes? Routing is the same so it looks just like the newer setup. Hell of a lot easier than tapping the oil pan, especially if a mistake is made. Just my $.02.

I think '09 and later pipes are wider due to the wider rear tire and swingarm, so the mufflers will probably not line up with your brackets.
