Default Road King has no Power after 60mph

Hello, Ive got a buddy with a 2000 Police Road King carburated. The bike runs great on back roads, has plenty of power in all gears but when you get up to 60 it feels like a governor kicks on. I put cams and the woods cam plate, tensioner and oil pump upgrade in the bike about 6 months ago and it ran great. No issues at all. Just curious if you guys have any experience with this issue? It seems like a sensor type of problem.

He did snap the belt when he got the bike back after all the upgrades and he put a new one on himself. I don't think that would cause the issue.

Thanks in advance!!

Yes I rejetted it. Runs great at lower speeds. No popping and accelerates hard till 60.

I did a Google search and found a post with similar issues saying it was an intake gasket leak. Does that sound right?

Yup. intake leak was my next suggestion. Get a can of brake Clean and at an idle give a few squirts with the little tube aimed at the intake clamps. Idle goes nuts you found the issue.

Clogged fuel filter? Air leak in fuel line? Both of these will allow power up and high rev with no load but when under load it will only go so fast. With this ethanol fuel now it may have deteriorated a line or something in the carb.

Another trick with a carb bike is to loosen the fuel cap. Sometimes the vent in the cap will clog and the gas won't flow as freely from tank to carb.
