Exhaust too quiet

I bought a 2016 street glide leftover its my first new harley and my god is it quiet and I am hoping I can change that. If I just install rinehart slip ons with my stock headers cat and all will it make a difference? Do I need to flash the ECM or get programmer? Can you just use slip on's on the newer bikes? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

An aftermarket exhaust is enough to increase the volume. You don't need to add a header if you're just looking for more noise. You wouldn't need to flash the ECM or get a programmer either if you're just doing mufflers only. Change the headers or air cleaner and you will need to.

That's exactly what I did to my 2017 RGU. The Reinhart slipons give it a nice mellow rumble. I got tired of the excessive exhaust note my old Superglide had so with this new bike I wanted something a little quieter but enough exhaust note to be heard out on the road. They were and are perfect and no need to reflash the ecm as long as exhaust is all you do and no mods to the intake. Good luck

It's not necessary to get a programmer or flash the ECM if all you do is change your mufflers.
If the Bike stays stock other than mufflers you will be OK, change air cleaner & mufflers then YES.
Change the air cleaner, mufflers, and get rid of the Catalytic Converter then most definitely you
will need to get a programmer and flash the ECM.

Great! thanks

One additional thing, if you leave in the cats you won't get real loud volume as the cats also restrict noise. Just muffler will however bring up the volume moderately.

Just swapping slip-ons and all else is stock, there should be no need to reflash ECM.
Slip-ons will only increase volume so much due to the stock head pipes being the most restrictive part of the exhaust due to catalytic converter.
Here is some videos we put together to help others gain a better idea of the differences with slip-ons and filtered and unfiltered headers.

Great because I just bought a set of rinehart 4", thanks for all the info.

I'd be inclined to get rid of the cat first and see what it sounds like with the stock mufflers. If you like it get your bike set up with a tuner, if not consider alternative mufflers, bearing in mind they will be noisier than with a cat.
