Yeah, for YEARS now I have been seeing that same claim/post. Please....and I mean no disrespect intended. It's the biggest load of crap I have ever read. If anyone thinks they can actually load more of ANYTHING other than air in their chopped tour pak vs my King Pak, they are kidding themselves.

I wouldn't know. never tried loading anything in the new packs, and have never owned an old king pack.

between the wife and I, we have 4 saddlebags, and two chopped tourpacks. if it doesn't fit, we don't need it.

If those dimensions are correct, that would explain what my dealer was talking about when he mentioned the old mounts not offering enough support for the new pack. According to that image, the 14+ tour pack is over 5" longer and 5" wider than the 97-13 pack.

Like we said I think that is a typo, look at the dimensions in the new P&A catalog there is only an inch difference in the length according to that, better yet just go measure one for your self, can't be that hard to find either one.

None available to measure around here. Nearest dealer is an hour away.

I went ahead and ordered one of the Mutazu packs with the steel base plate & premium hardware. Spent several hours reading reviews and people seem to be happy with the HD clone for the most part. Seems like the bad reviews were mostly for the older style trunks. If the thing will hold a 7" high half helmet and a few other items I'll be happy.

As long as you are happy thats what matters, I would have maybe done the aftermarket thing also, but no one does my color so just as cheap for me to buy H-D primed since I have to have it painted. $577 for H-D through board tracker

I just got my tour pack in and took some measurements. I can confirm that the dimensions for the 97-13 (bottom left on the image) are accurate.

A few thoughts on the Mutazu chopped tour pack.. I was actually pleasantly surprised with it! For the price, I was expecting it to feel flimsy but it feels pretty damn solid! Paint is nice too. I got the premium hardware and it seems to be ok. Will have to report back on it after I've used it for a while. The backrest was somewhat of a pain to install but other than that, no complaints.

I also have a Reckless fairing on the way so that I can convert from Road King to Street King or Electra King.

You will enjoy the faring and TP. Noticed you also have lowers in your RK. Great minds...

I bought the after market TP a couple years ago, faring 7 years ago, and would buy again.
