I found this photo that answered my original question: No matter what year your bike is, if you purchase a brand new SE compensator from HD you will receive the top version in the picture. So if you are buying a Game Changer 32t compensating sprocket, while also installing a new SE compensator, you will need to buy the game changer for 14-16 models 1066-0051.

Regarding the extra shoe.

For replacement of the original one when the time comes to replace.

Thanks. I need to figure out how to identify if mine has the "not ok", the "ok", compensator in it. Sounds to me like 3 versions of comps:

*2007 through 2010 you need to upgrade, when you upgrade if you get the part from HD it will be the 14+ version, install 1066-0051.

*2011(?) through 2013 good to go install 1066-0050.

*14+ good to go install 1066-0051.

Have you heard anything from PDI? I emailed them and got no response, it said my game changer was "awaiting fulfillment."

I checked their yelp reviews and they are being called a scam site. They also have a BBB rating of F, for taking orders and placing them on an "awaiting fulfillment" status and then never responding, never shipping, and never refunding money.

I have sent them 2 emails, one requesting a refund... no correspondence.

Both newer look like this. Newest will have a torx bolt, older will have a hex bolt.

838 those pictures are exactly what I was hoping for. So if it looks like the top I have to upgrade but there are two styles that look like the bottom. And depending on what style you have depends on the model game changer. But if you have to upgrade you will be installing the newest version so go with 0051

Compensator part numbers (2011 touring is 83935-09):

40274-08
40274-08A
83935-09 - 2011 parts manual
83935-09A
42200064
42200064A

It would be great if Primo just told us what part number replaces what part number. I guess it makes sense... am guessing 40274 is the one that needs to be upgraded.

I finally heard back from rivera. If you install the new compensator use 0051. If you have the old SE compensator use 0050. But it also sounds like the old SE compensator is not built to last, so it might be a good idea to purchase the new compensator and the 0051 game changer to avoid being SOL if your old SE compensator malfunctions with a game changer installed... then you'll be out extra money when you have to replace the compensator with a new version and then have to get a 0051 game changer....
