My experience was that higher tire pressure REDUCED the wander, did not eliminate it. May as well go the max allowed on the sidewall, if that works, it is easier to let air out looking fro just what you want than to dribble it in a couple of psi at a time.

Here’s a novel idea! Put in the tire pressure recommended by Harley. That accounts for weight and geometry, and creates the proper contact patch. Higher pressure reduces the contact patch, which increases the tendency to track grooves.

BTW, my ‘17 Road King with stock Dunlops, and 3,600 miles, tracks straight as an arrow on Southern California freeways...even at high speed. Except for a few of the joints that seem wide enough to swallow an entire tire...

Edit: But, on the other hand, my TriGlide with Michele CIIs seem to track grooves at times.

It's pretty bad. The Avon's haven't broken in yet but I don't know if it will change.

Thanks in advance!!!
How many miles on this bike? Front fork oil ever been changed? Also rear swingarm bearings may need replacing over 50K miles. I got to 63K and found these had needed replacing long before that.

The stock Dunlops to track nice in the straight line on the highway, but those other tires ought to be okay too.

Just some possible items that might affect the handling.

You've got the same bike. You know what I'm talking about then?

It seems the stock tires didn't do it as much. Put on the Pirelli's and it handled much better in the mountains but the "freeway wander" showed up. Elite 3's are somewhat new, right?

Maybe check steering head bearing and swing arm bushings, also check to the wheels to see if they're aligned. Good luck

Did you ever try other tires? Thanks for responding!

I have been running them since 2011.

Avon has their own recommendation as far as inflation goes. Do not use the HD spec with Avon’s

the stock tires on my 06 were horrible, , replaced them with Michelins and no more wandering, on my 18 I dont notice it at all with the stock rubber.
