Default Jump Starting Ultra Classic

My riding group travels to some remote areas where a dead battery can be quite an issue. I just ordered an Audew Portable Jump Start Charger. Problem is the battery is buried deep under the seat out of sight (even after removing the seat) and you need to remove some electrical connectors to get to it. I know the battery tender cables under the side cover are not heavy enough to handle a heavier charger or a jump start. Has anyone installed heavier cables from the battery to under the side cover plate for facilitate jump starting or a heavier charge?

Hook the positive lead straight to the starter where the battery cable bolts to the starter and the negative to any place on the frame or frame bolt. Nothing to remove.

What he said.
I have seen chargers at dealerships hooked to used bikes at the starter lug and a muffler clamp.

Yes, the starter.

I keep an XP-10 on the bike, fortunately, I have only used it to help others.

Connect as mentioned above (starter lug + and muffler slip-on clamp -)
You may wish to review clamp access.
Some of those clamps are bulky and the short wires sometimes make reaching difficult.
A lithium jumper box will sometimes not have enough wire to reach the starter lug and muffler clamp.
I do not have a jumper box. A made my own jumper cables out of some trolling motor clamps and some copper strand cables i had left over.
Cable set stores smaller than 2 packs of cigarettes.
Been used several times to help others.

I just ran into this problem as I was moving things around in the garage. I went to start the Harley and ... nothing. It was on a battery tender but it must not have been working properly. Thanks to this thread I'm back in business.
