Has been on the shelf since. I will have to check into one of those flask bottles.
On a side note to the OP. if you don't want to put the bars on......
A buddy of mine drilled a small hole in the bottom corner of his bag and put a petcock drain in it. Fills it with ice, beer, and soda for trips. He just opens the petcock and it can drip drain going down the road.

This is a water bottle cage designed for bicycles. I considered installing one on the front of my saddle bag but ended up putting it inside the bag because I only ride solo and I'm unlikely to reach for a drink while riding. They come in a zillion colors and materials and good ones definitely grip a bottle well enough to keep it in place.
About all the crash bar bag beverage holder is good for is making hot coffee.
My Shovelhead has had a petcock in the bottom of the downhill bag for 30 years. Works great!
