Here's a few pictures of something I put together.

I cut the top off a Redline oil funnel to form the top of the cup holder.

Covered the plastic collar with some vinyl and sewed it together 1/3 of the way down so it can't come off while running down the road.

I used some 2 inch webbing to form the harness to attach the cup holder to.

I think HD used to sell a similar set up but, I haven't seen it in awhile.

It works and didn't cost much except a little time to stitch it all together.

Thanks
I felt the same way about the crash bars but the more I looked at them and saw them ona few bikes I decided to have a set put on.
Had the dealer throw them on while in winter storage. The more I see the more I like em. Never no they might come in handy one day.

ya, it probably is the cleanest setup to be honest, there are plenty of them on e bay, and looks like I can get an adaptor for the end so i can go back the the stock looking setup pretty easily.

the smaller Gatorade bottles fit in the water bottle holder perfect. One in the external slot, one inside the enclosed part. Then at a gas stop, buy a normal bottle of Gatorade and pour it into the 2 smaller ones. Works well. Pitch them when they get grungy.

I only have one on the left side (on right side I have the normal non-water bottle one)

I agree. I have the leather holder that mounts in front of the saddle bag. I use a Hydro flask. Last summer riding home from Florida, 105 degrees, he water never got warm. When I filled up with gas I bought a cold bottle of water, no ice, and stayed cold the whole time.

But don't buy a HD leather holder, they're too expensive. I bought mine from JP Cycles for $35.00. Looks exactly the same as the HD one.

Yeah, don’t let the water getting warm scare you, just get a better bottle. We use these and it’s ridiculous how well they keep cold. Let one half full of ice on my counter with no lid once and it took two days for the ice to completely melt.
The flip straw top makes it easy to drink rolling down the road. The bottom rubber piece it comes with pulls off and it fits in those saddle bag bottle holder spots perfectly.
