Default Windshield Bags-Alternate Suggestions?

Was contemplating adding a windshield bag (3-small pouches) to my FLHTK for a place to keep my FOB, Phone, wallet and keys while riding-don't like anything in my pockets. I do not like the Velcro or small turn fasteners that the non OEM versions have. Also don't care for the faux leather.
Thought it would be handy for gas stops without getting in the tourpack. After searching this Forum I'm reading that these units will scratch the windshield and collect dirt-makes total sense. I'm also running a dark low profile LRS and I think the windshield bags would actually stick up above the windshield-or be very close to the top of it.
What other options are out there-again, to eliminate having to get in to the tourpack or side bags at gas stops?

There are tank bags.
Also, for the lowers there are options. You can use existing snap covers. Or there are lockable covers to replace the snap covers. There are also covers to replace the snap covers that have small bags similar to the windshield bags.
There are also bags and bottle holders that attach to the front of the saddle bag guards.
FWIW, ive had the HD windshield bags on for about a year now with no windshield damage. Also a friend has them on his with a short shield and the bags do notvstick over the top and since he has a dark shield you cannot even tell they are on the bike from the front.

Don't all windshield bags (as in for FLH Rushmores) block the fairing vent?

They sell a set that's specifically designed for the Rushmore"s that will allow the airflow through the fairing air vent. Just check the parts catalog on line or the printed version.

You can get Saddlebag Trays that sit inside the top of your saddlebags to organize that kind of stuff.
I have a small one that sits in left rear of the left saddlebag, it's called the TOP SHELF organizer tray.
I got mine at ( www.eglidegoodies.com ) I paid about $70.oo for it a few years ago.

You can put your stuff in it like, a phone, wallet, small tools, and I also put a copy of proof of Insurance
& registration under the rubber mat that sits on the bottom of the tray.

EGlideGoodies also sales one that covers the top inside of the saddlebag completely.
It's call the Saddlebag Organizer Tray that runs about $130.oo.

Mine has magnetic closures and conforms nicely to my Klock Werks curved windshield.

Excellent! On a down note, HD says the windshield bag x 3 is not compatible with illuminated windshield trim.....which of course I do have.
