So long Bob, hello King

So long Bob, hello King
I've been riding for close to 49 years. Have had all kinds of makes and models. For the past 3 years I've had a '14 FXDF, made some changes and really loved the bike (I've put pics over in the Dyna section). But......while I loved the "hot rod" aspect to it my body was complaining.
Out for a ride yesterday and heading home I stopped by my friendly neighborhood dealer (Rocky Mountain HD for those of you in the Denver area). Just needed to stretch and use the facilities. Had some used bikes out front and there was a really nice looking all stock '13 Road King with just a few miles over 10k on it.
The guys there know me and long story short I left them the Bob and rode home on the King. I really love the ride, plus having storage again really works well for me. Part of the deal included a 2 year warranty and some Bassani slip-ons (they have to order them). They just did the 10k service on it and put on new tires as well.
They stayed late to make the deal happen-got home just at 7p, I'll put a pic later today. Really looking forward to some nice rides on this one. I just added a few more riding years with this bike. Around town I'll keep the windshield off but will definitely use it on the longer trips.

Smooth move and congratulations!!! My Road King goes stripped when weather permits and my favorite look. But when I have just a shield on I replaced the stock with a recurve from LRS and huge difference in ride comfort/buffeting. Then for cold weather rides I have a Memphis Shades fairing, also with an LRS shield. Have to love the versatility of the Road King!!!

Congrats on the Road King I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many miles and smiles like I have on mine. The only deal is I'm jealous of your riding weather I haven't been able to ride here since October and there's one of your Colorado lows hitting us tonight with up to a foot of snow predicted .

Thanks! I really wasn't looking to get a new ride, I'd actually been thinking of hanging it up, stopped by just for a break, saw it, rode it and decided if I could get the deal I wanted I'd do it. Just got home from a short ride to breakfast with some friends and I can't get over how comfortable it is and much more nimble than the Fat Bob. Very happy, now to just get the slip-ons so it sounds like a motorcycle LOL. Weather is supposed to go south starting later tonight and stay that way for a couple of days. I'm off all next week so I'll be able to get out starting Wednesday again.
Here's a quick pic from this morning.
