Default 16 vs 17 SGS

Need some objective input. Looking at 2 Street Glide Specials. One a 2017 with a few upgrades per pic below (17 next to golf clubs) and the next bike a 2016 with a total of $7K in upgrades including labor or $5K in parts. Mileage is about equal. Price on both is equal at $19K. Do you go with me 2016 with more upgrades or the 2017 with the newer engine and a couple of upgrades.

I'd probably go for the 16 myself. Opinions are like corn holes though. Ride both and decide or flip a coin. That's about as scientific as I like to get.

LOL thanks and then there’s a Laguna Orange with 400 miles which I really like. Seller is set at $22,500 and owns it outright and he’s firm at that price. If he’d drop down to $20, I’d take that one.

I like the looks of the 16 better. To me, the engine is a moot point really. Especially if the 16 has a full stage 1.

Ignore the value of the upgrades. Look at both bikes as they are. One of them is going to require less work for you to be satisfied with it.

Pick that one.

Default Ride & Decide

I went through a similar choice. Lined them both up, rode the 16, then the 17. Went home with the 17.

If you have the money buy the one with the latest engine ,your wallet will thank you three years down the road.Add on's aren't worth squat on trade in. But that newer Vin # is.

Looks like you have an EG but don'y know which TC it may be. Have you ridden a bike with either motor? The newer 107 is a lot more motor than anything preceding it. The first time my wife was on the new bike she commented on how much more power it has.

Warranty on either bike? They can roll over to new owner so a consideration. As far as the upgrades they are hard to sell. If I ever expected to get the money I ever put into my bikes upgrades I would be getting a new one every year.

Go to a dealership and test ride any M8 touring bike. That may help you make up your mind. But as I say to people all the time, buyer beware. If you are not ready to buy a new M8, don't ride one. I told myself that exact same thing until I was ready to buy. Good luck with your choice and whatever you end up with!!!

I don't remember seeing mileage on the 1st 2? I see at least $1500-2k add ons on the 3rd between pipes, end caps, black heat shields, black luggage racks and back rests. To me extras matter, especially if it has what you were going to buy them anyway.

Good question on the warranties?

400 miles is 400 miles, plus it's orange and well I am kinda biased.

Orange it is!
