Question ABS Brake recall years

I have a 2012 cvo ultra. I traded in a 2008 last august for it. I never had brake issues on the 2008 however it did do the fluid change every 2 years. So i see the recall is for 2008-11 what changed (brand) of abs? What type would I have in my 2012 ? I did have the fluid just changed when i picked it up as well. thanks Jeff

I've heard rumors of what your dealer told you but I haven't been able to confirm it. The 8-11's were manufactured by a Chinese company. The 12-13's are the same part number but supposedly manufactured by Delphi. That's all I know about it.

i just did a parts search for the abs controller on my 2011 CVO Road Glide
and your 2012 cvo ultra. Both come back with the same CONTROLLER, ELECTR number 40649-08. I'm perplexed why the 2012 and 2013's are not involved in the recall. Its my understanding the 2014 was when they changed to the Bosch ABS controller.

It's the module, not the electronic controller that's at issue here. The module contains the DOT4, not the control...the module has an -09 part number, and you can get the full part number on a parts finder.

Thanks for correcting my mistake. The part number is 48343-09 and is the same for both models.

My 2012 flhtk is currently in the shop waiting on a new abs module for this exact problem. I doubt anything changed until at least 2014.

So what does the MOCO and the NHTSA have to say about the increasing number of ABS failures on 2012 model bikes? Same part, same failure different year. This whole mess sucks big time. It's like pulling teeth to get anyone to fess up to the magnitude of the problem.
