12 Inch Paul Yafee Monkey Bars HELP

Guy's,
I'm hoping you can give me some advice and I know this topic has come up before.

I have a new 2018 Street Glide Special that will be arriving at the dealer the second week in April and I'm going to have them install the 12" Yafee Monkey Bars, I had originally ordered the 10's but decided to change them to 12's after doing too much reading on them and everyone said go with 2" higher then you think.

I really think I'm second guessing myself to much and believe me I did that when I was trying to decide between the Street Glide and Road Glide.

I'm 5' 10" and I'm coming off a Night Train that had drag bars so I know this will be a welcomed change. I'm not worried about the hands being behind the fairing as much as I am in regards to comfort on long trips.

I also know that a lot of this is personal preference, but it would be great if I get your feedback.

Thanks,
Mike

Personally I think you've made the right choice. Both on bike selection and the height of the bars. Side note: they will fit without any changes to wiring or clutch and brake lines. So if they charge you for wiring extensions or extended lines, you've been had.

Appreciate the confirmation on my choice. The dealer is really good to work with and he said I'm good to go with existing cables.

Thanks,
Mike

I have 10" on my bike, I ride all winter long so at 10" they keep my hands behind the fairing.

Even with 12" bars the wind is directed up over the fairing and your hands.

you should be pleased. the 12" yaffees are almost equal to other mfgs 14". I went with the yaffee 10" and they are about as tall as my buddies LA 12" bars.

Did exactly what you are doing back in 2015, except I installed them. Zero regrets with going with the 12’s. Glad I did. They are perfect!

I have 12" Yaffe's on my street glide and I'm also 5'10". They are perfect height. You will be very happy with them.

Same here. 5" 10" and the 12 inch bars were perfect.
