I didn't see in your OP that you were looking for good or bad experiences.

So if that was your intent, I reckon that wasn't clear. Splitting hairs? Maybe. But on the World Wide Web, all we can do is respond to what's asked.
I guess my post wasn't specific enough . I took for granted
that I would get feedback on what would or wouldn't work .

Your post was fine leadman. Some folks just can't seem to resist the opportunity to try and puff out their chest over the keyboard. They don't understand southern hospitality as we do I guess. I'm for one glad you asked this very question because it provided an answer I was looking for.
I've added a tour pack to my road glide but didn't want to add the speaker pods which all of these holders seem to mount up too.
I will now be purchasing one of the beverage bras someone else suggested as a solution to your question.

Thanks,

It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I fit the Barefoot Willie's cup holder to the crash bar that is just in front of the saddlebag, and it is accessible by the passenger, and comes with a coozie. Might be worth a look. It's very well made and solid.

I bought this one. My wife loves it, too. A couple of things...

You really have to crank down tight on the thumb screw that holds it to the bracket. She had it flip over on her and lost a full water bottle. Avoid tall travel mugs for the same reason. The majority of the cup's weight has to be below the bracket.

If you get a gas station or McD's cup of coffee in a disposable cup, don't put it into the holder if the lid isn't re-closable. If it just has a hole in the lid to drink from, the wind across the top will syphon coffee out and spray all over the back of the bike.
