Why do Street Glide Specials cost more than an Ultra Classic?
On a recent thread, someone mentioned they paid $29.5 for a Street Glide Special. I thought that must be a Typo, but I checked the Harley Website, and the SGS is more than the FLHTCU.
Considering they don’t have to pay for chrome, and a light bar, shouldn’t they be less?
What’s the difference between a SGS and the old Electraglide Standards which were $15k if fuel injected?

My brother bought a 2018 SGS with the Numbered paint set. Denim blue with the eagles on it. paid 30k. I tried to talk him into a 2017 Limited with stage 4 and lots of other extras for 26k and he said NO NO NO. People Like what they like and its his money. To each his own. I personally would buy a year or two older and let someone else take the depreciation hit. JMO.

Good old American economics: Supply & Demand. Doesn't has anything to do with the cost of producing them. More people want the SGS than the Ultra.
I'm surprised they still offer the Ultra. I would think the MoCo would drop it and bring back the Electra Glide Classic. Price it around $22,500- $22,900, it would fit in the lineup better & they'd sell a ton of them.

True. I like this idea. Something to bridge the gap between the King and the Limited. In the big picture, the Limited isn't too much more than the Ultra, especially if you're breaking it down monthly like most people are. Save the premium bells and whistles for the Limited, 86 the Ultra and then the EGC could be a relatively cheap, basic, entry level fairing'd bike.

I bought SGS.....why, unless the salesman lied to me the Ultra had M8 with cooling my SGS does not and I wanted an air cooled engine....
Upgraded radio,
Extended Rear fender with the LED
Engine guard
4 point docking ( i moved my King Pak from my RK to the SGS )
And a few more items I can't recall, but I did the math...SGS WON
