Can't change from odometer to anything else

I'm the new owner of a '14 FLHR with just over 4,000mi. The problem I'm having is that I can't change the screen from odometer to the other screens. The owner's manual says to use the trigger switch to make the changes. I can't get it to work. Have any of y'all had a problem like this and how did you fix it?

Hopefully this is a stupid question but do you have the ignition on? You can push the button with the bike off to get the mileage but you have to turn it on to get it to cycle through the other displays

If it’s shot, you’ll need a whole new left switch pack.

That is what happened on my 14 FLHTK. Would not advance, replaced under warranty at the dealer.

To Edwardk..I had the ignition on. Tried it both ways. But hey.. I'm not above not having the switch on and wonder why something doesn't work. Thanks for the reply. To you other guys... it looks like I'll need to order a switch. Thank you all that replied. I need all the info I can get. I appreciate it. About how much will the switch run. I think I can install it myself.

More than you are going to like. I would just bite the bullet and get the HD lighted switches for around $200.

Thanks hb. I think that's just what I'll do. I appreciate the input. Ride safe.
