I was considering this bag for an upcoming trip. It states that it can be used as a backrest was well. Some have reported using their backrest but bag moves it forward. However, I have my tourpack extended back 2 inches. Anyone use this bag with this configuration while using backrest? I don't want to use the bag itself as a backrest for back reasons.

I have this exact bag. I used it on our looong trip to Sturgis. It worked fantastic. Easy on/off, and holds everything you could ever need, and more.
I didn’t use it as a back rest, as I already have a backrest, but it does fit perfectly fine behind the drivers back rest.

 

i need a new bag as well for my new to me 1012 ultra cvo. I had a 2008 ultra and have the t-bag backseat dresser bag. With this new bike (2012) it has a much smaller backseat and i need a different bag. I also need to move the tourpack back to the last setting. I was thinking of the saddleman backseat bag instead but not sude how it will fit compared to the t-bag.

 

Used it for long trips.......as a back rest......but it did sit back a few inches to where I needed it........used towels in the bungy area in front to make up the room.
Holds everything you need and then some.......
BUT...it did get some rain inside so I just packed everything in a contractors bag(thicker and built better)......still works great......will be using it again for a long trip this summer.

I will be using a backrest in the future though......just more comfortable I think.

 

I slipped a large black garbage bag over mine on the one day it was raining, as I didn’t want to chance my gear getting wet.

 

Is your tour pak extended or stock location?

 

Extended to it's rear most position.

 

Me and my riding partner have these (BR4100 I believe).
He has used his before I have yet to use mine as I would only need it for a very long trip.
We removed the cross-string think and then we had a leather "cushion" made with a Velcro backing for quick removal if needed.

Straps running underneath the seat to help secure the bag and perhaps bungee cords (net) over the top of the bag and secured to the tour pack luggage rack really keeps the bag secure and in place and allows for the carrying of leathers and or rain gear atop of the bag.
