Reinstall the powercommander and try it. If it worked before It should work now. A freind had a 2012 96" that he put a huge cam in and it acted the same as yours. No power in 6th. He also replaced PC with a 5. Good luck.

My '07 had an issue with no power at speed in 6th. My issue turned out to be a scissored crank. My only observed symptom was loss of power in top gear. Good luck.

Is it possible tranny is damaged?

Could you see enough compression drop by jacking bike up, removing plugs and turning rear wheel in 6th? Unless somethng is sheared though I would think you would still have some compression in both plugs.

depending on your tires, 70 in 6th is only about 2675 rpm.

Not a power house, but should keep accelarating if not to aggressive and pinging it. My first though is he meant it was doggy in 6th, which is true.

The 07s we're geared very high, 6th really was not useable until about 75. Lots of performance oriented mods changed gearing inside the primary to address this, or went to a international rear sproket from a sportster out back, if memory serves me correctly.

Been several years since having an 07, so I could be suffering from memory lapse.

" if you suddenly lose power either 6th is stripped and not usable or the clutch is slipping "

This^^is my best guess.

I have an 07, this sounds similar to a problem I was having in 6th gear, where the power would just flatten out. I might pick up a little speed but rate of acceleration just slowed way down. I was convinced it was the tune, but never go to the bottom of it. Finally I decided to do a Fuel Moto build, and first thing they did was put it on a dyno. It immediately showed that the engine would reach about 3300rpm and then the power would just go flat! ...and only in 6th. They knew it was the fuel pump. Quite common in the 07s they said. Changed the fuel pump and did my build. It's been heaven ever since.

I was also seeing lot's of spark knock hits in 5th and 6th,on my Powervision when I hit the 3300 rpm range on 5th and 6th.

Just a thought.
