Mine has got wet plenty of times. It does smell a little at first, epsecially if you leave it in the saddle bags. Great thing is, you take it off you got a dry seat.

The fur gets matted down, and should be washed every few years. Probably more than I do. Maybe every other year. Maybe could brush it.

If it get rained on just leave it out for couple days. May want to put some leather conditioner on it, if it feels dry. Usually don't though. My big one is 13 years old. They have gone up in price it seems. The ikea is not the worse idea. I put my little one on my mechanics chair in garage when hot out.

Popped for one of their custom covers for the '98 Ultra, well worth the money.

Question: my butt does not burn, it gets numb after a couple of hours. Anyone know if a sheep skin cover will eliminate this?

Thanks

On my second one of these over the last several years put the old one on my mower..lol..... we wouldn't leave home without it.http://m.samsclub.com/ip/100-genuine...o-considered_2

just cut it to fit. Cut a slot for back rest and that's it... we try not to let it get wet.

Default Sheep skin

Been using them for years, can't leave home without it ! Cool in the summer and actually feels like a heated seat in the colder weather.

Holy F>>> It looks like a red bath mat. Matching red??

Caught in rain tonight. Smells like wet dog.

Who people feel the need to put up a pic of a bike, which we all have, and sheepskin, which we all have in this thread?

Screams for attention. Not special, other than the red part. That screams San Francisco.

Thanks, this post reminded me to call Alaska Leather and order a cover for my rider backrest. I already got the shipping notice.

Mine was stolen off the seat late last summer...will be replacing it soon.
We have a place within 5 miles of us that sells sheep skins for m/c seats, along with other farmed / home grown / home made stuff.
