You're not far from Pro Action. Why don't you take a ride over and talk to George. I have their rears. I haven't done the front on the 17 yet. I did mono tubes in the 10 King and while not the best they are certainly better than stock by quite a bit. I have looked at the Legends. They seem to get mixed reviews. Ohlins would be at the top seeing that their isn't much competition for the front end.

What preload settings did you guys use on the Legend Axeo's and how much weight you running?
I used the chart and set it up for 2-up riding (2 turns) and it seems to stiff, thinking about taking them back out and adjusting them down to 1 turn.

that’s a great question as I’m having the dealer install them. I’ll try and find out and post it here.

I went with Legends for front & rear. I could not be happier. Way better than stock!!!! Lots of complaints about the Axeo’s being too stiff, but I think they are just right.

Thanks to all for the input. I talked to Ohlins USA they said the FKC101 is a drop in with no adjustment--- kinda like a one size fits all? I want to stay in the $750 without labor range--- Pro Action is leaving for Sturgis on the 29th and are closed on Fridays and weekends.... they have a new dampening rod and spring setup for $550 installed ride in service. They'll be back on the 15th of August so I think I'll go that route.I'm really happy with the rear shocks & DJ said they'll do the forks and adjust till I'm happy--- that's hard to beat that.

10RK had the Mono's in ft. and found the ride way to hard. Installed Axeo's and they are perfect for me.

The FKC101 is not quite a one size fits all, as there are several different spring rates available, they come as a set of cartridges plus a pair of springs. Howard Messner of Motorcycle Metal is an Ohlins dealer and supplies to HDF members at discounted prices - give him a call. I can't say if he will meet your target, but it is worth a call.
