Why not buy a set of the OEM leather bags that are take-offs from a Roadking?

I have hard bags already. I am going for that "old school" look.

I'm sure it can be done, and has been done. I remember a forum member had a set of bags custom made with a specific color in mind. That was a while ago, but I think they looked like softail bags.

However, softail bags are designed differently in that they are soft sided. They require a guard that prevents them from flopping into the wheel. The Touring saddle bags are hard sided plastic covered in leather.

However, I seen some pretty amazing stuff with custom Harley bikes. Where there is a will, there is a way.

After owning several of both, the only advantage hard bags have over leather in my opinion is security. And even then there are 3rd party locks made for them. Leather bags hold a lot more, keep your stuff just as dry, easier to clean, and are easier to open than hard bags before 2014. The only reason to own hard bags is for their looks.

I have a set of RKC bags. PM me if you are interested. Unless you like the softail bags better...
