Yes, it's a Yamaha!

Well, my wife really wants to get into riding. I would love to get her an HD, but don't have the funds, and she wont let me finance one for her. Her mother has a 86 or 87 Yamaha Phazer. They were only made two years, and her mom bought it new. My father-in-law has a goldwing, and my mother-in-law doesn't ride the Phazer much anymore, so, she gave it to my wife. It has 16k original miles, and her mom keeps all of her stuff in great shape. I knew the wife was getting the bike, at some point. But, I was surprised to see it in the garage when I got home from work tonight. So, now she has a bike to ride. A starter bike, if you will. If the bug gets her, I will bet we will be getting her a HD by Christmas. Anyways, I know this isn't a HD or a touring bike, for that matter. But, I spend all my time in this section of the forum, and wanted to show it off a bit. I am really happy for her.

What a deal. Best of luck to her and her new ride. MSF course in her future?

She has no choice in that matter. I might let her drive it around the block, for starters, but she must take the course. She doesn't want to spend the money, but, I am not giving her a choice in the matter. She has driven dirt bikes and four wheelers, but nothing on the street. It's a whole new ballgame.

Can't beat a free trainer bike anytime!
I got my daughter a Honda Rebel 250 to teach her how to ride 3 years ago and it worked out great.
She got the Harley bug , so we found her a Sportster 883 last year, and she's been smiling ever since.
We sold the Rebel for what we paid for it to a nice lady that wants to learn to ride.
I'm pretty sure the first owner bought the Rebel for the same reason we did.
That Yamaha really looks like it's in nice shape.
Good luck and safe training.
Mick

Thanks Mick. Funny you should mention a Rebel. I started riding many moon ago, and the Rebel (250cc) was my first real street only bike. I had a lot of fun on it. And, at the time, I really thought it looked like a little Harley. Man, I thought I was a real bad @ss. LOL, funny and sad how times change.

Nice bike. Has the look of a v-max. Can we get some details on the bike. I searched the web and only came up with snowmobiles.

That looks like a great starter bike. I bet she has a lot of fun riding and learning on it. The price is right to. All around great deal.
