Default 2001 Road King not charging

I have a 2001 Road King Classic that is not charging correctly. Initially, the stator had insufficient output (+/1 10 volts), so replaced it. Subsequently, still had no rise in voltage at the battery while the bike is running, so I replaced the Voltage Regulator. Still have no rise in voltage at increased rpm. Battery if fairly new (within 2 months) and is fully charged. I've run out of parts to replace

Your stator should be putting out approximately 35 volts AC across the two or 3 wires going to regulator at apx 2000 rpm test range. Is your system 2 wire or 3 wire?

What DC volts is on your battery with bike off and lights flipped on and off to kill surface charge? Check at wire terminal and on lead of battery.

Thanks for the quick reply - Stator output is good - 35+ vAC. Battery has 12.4 vDC with the bike not running - Doesn't change when I fire it up

You system is good to regulator. Check wires from regulator to battery.
Also out of regulator but for that to read and act correctly needs a good battery hooked up correctly. Your regulator is still bad, the connections from it or battery.
Need to pull battery out completely. Charge it 24 hours on maintenance charger under 1 amp and then get it checked on a good checker set to the amp hour rating of battery.

Sometimes, this is extremely difficult since checkers don't like little bike batteries or are junk to sale batteries. I personally would replace battery with as much trouble as I have had getting them checked correctly. Most of the time, they have said it was OK and it was battery. Also, battery is usually what kills charging system.

I had the same prob on my 01. Fond the wire coming out of the case was shorting out to the case. Fixed wire and had no more problems.
