My advice is walk in, find the bike you want and then let them know if the deal is right you will buy today. It is more difficult for a dealer when a buyer is looking at a couple of different bikes even if the MSRP is nearly the same. For an ‘18 I would want $4,000 - $5,000 off and a break on fees as well as any accessories I purchase. Also let them know you have good credit and are willing to finance the bike or you can pay cash if that is an incentive to them. Today dealers feel more comfortable to spend time with you if they know you can get financing or can pay cash. They don’t want to run numbers waste time trying to make the deal right only to find out you can’t buy anyway. Deal will not be as good on a ‘19 but they have some room even if it’s just against the fees and parts discount.
I bought an ‘18 the end of July and this is how my deal shook out.
$3,000 discount on the bike
Retail for my trade
20% off parts
A couple hours discount on labor
Good Luck...

I will add argue the dealer prep fees , it's bullshit and vary widely between dealers get it cut by at least 1/2, make a list of add-ons you might want and a couple services tossed in to sweeten the deal if they won't move off MSRP. You can make up for any discounts you don't get that way and most dealers will play that game.
