Alloy Art Strong Arm Inner Fairing

Hello All,

Today's project was re-installing my warranty repaired Aquatic AV headunit. I thought I'd do the Alloy Art fairing brackets as well.

Tore everything down. Shook my head at the crappy wiring that has gone on since November 2008. One day I'm going to re do everything... One day.

Fairing bracket wasn't terrible, just a bit of guess and test with the hardware, and alignment and such. I also ordered the secondary [?] brackets, but as I am using 5.25" -> 6.5" brackets with Infinity Kappas installed, there isn't any way to install the secondary brackets. [The brackets rotate the speakers 90 degrees] There is a part of me that thinks I should just install the 5.25" again, firm up the fairing, and call it done. However, others must have done something with their 6.5" install, and not "free-aired" the fairing. Maybe creative use of zip-ties?

It was beer time a long time ago, so I shut the job down for the night. Anyhow, back in tomorrow, as I need to re-ground the amp, so any ideas would be helpful. I didn't take any pictures, but just curious what others have done on their installs.

I still have the old HD HID headlight, and an aftermarket HID high beam. I'll need the bracket, as that supports the ballast. I will do a JW Speaker headlight at some point.

Thanks
H

Your setup might be different than mine, but it all worked on for me. I used the Aquatic 6.5" speakers and their adapter.

Looking at your picture, it must be something to do with the infinity Kappas. They rotated the speakers mounts [screws] 90 deg. Maybe I'd try the Aquatic speakers. How'd the amp and speakers turn out? I initially started with the direct connect Hawg Wired amp and speakers, since I had good luck, upgraded to their DX Amp, and 6.5" speakers. Blew the speakers after a year or two, tried the kappas. Added the Aquatic head unit in 2015.

I'm hoping to get a new headlight and get rid of the HID ballasts. Shoud clean up the wiring under the fairing a bit.

I'll keep the secondary supports for later...

Thanks
H

To me it all sounds pretty good, but I don't know much about stereo equipment. The factory stuff was awful (cassette tape LOL), so I researched until my head hurt, and still didn't know anything. Since the Aquatic seemed to get good reviews and everything came as a package, I just went with it. Ripping around town or on the freeway it sounds good to my untrained ears.
