Default Scissor Jack Options

Did a search and read the info. However I see that LiftMaster has 2 versions, a narrow scissor with safety pin (6-position) and without. Being these are all mechanical not sure if the safety pin adds any security over the regular model.
Looking to get a narrow scissor to give me more access for fluid changes.

Thought please.

Default Scissors Lifts

You will want something that is wide enough to really support your bike and is stable with the bike lifted up. I've had a black jack for years and it works well for what it is. I don't think you need a scissors jack that can be pinned. In all the years I've had mine, it has never slipped in any way. I can lift the front or the back depending on my needs, it gets the rear or front tire off the ground, and is a great way to quickly level the bike for primary fluid refill. The actual pad that comes in contact with the bike is about 6 inches wide and has stabilizers welded to the bottom pad so it doesn't rock or move easily. I paid about 100 bucks for it and I think I got my monies worth.
You might want to measure your bike where you plan to place the jack, so you can tell if a wide one would work for you. If it is too wide for you bike there are those return shipping charges.

I use a scissor jack all the time in my shop for all kinds of work . It's great for leveling out the bike to work on . Easy to lift the front end when cleaning rim or doing oil changes . Mine doesn't have any safety pins and has been sitting this way for more than a month . No problems !

Don't use a skinny one like most cars come with, they bend over sideways real easy. Yes, I know...

My friend asked the same question today when he stopped by . Just got finished polishing rims , forks , rotors ect . Tires are going on soon , haven't decided on tires yet ... Might have to start a thread on which ones are best !!

I also have a hydraulic jack that will pick the entire bike up off the ground, and do it with much stability. But it hinders getting all the drain plugs open without moving the jack pick up location.
I was hoping to use my Condor to stabilize the bike and use the scissor to lift the rear for a bit of more clearance.
