Default K&N For '14 Road King

I ordered a K&N air filter for my 2014 Road King. Numerous sites list the same part number, and those that have pictures show the same one. It's shaped like a 'D'.

First off, there is no hole in the center for the air cleaner cover bolt. Second, there is no seal between the filter and the air cleaner frame doohicky.

What am I missing? I figured it would be a round filter, sorta like this one

I like the look of the stock air filter cover, and want to keep using it.

The bracket 60900005 bolts to the three holes on that filter (part #14) , and the cover bolts to the hole in the bracket. Should be right there with your stock parts, if your bike had a stock filter housing on it.

The seal for the air filter is integral to the backing plate.

.....................and the bolt that holds my air filter cover on goes all the way from the cover itself to the throttle body.

here's the setup I have. rubber ring all the way to the right sits on top of round air filter, which goes on the bracket, and a bolt goes from cover to throttle body

That number on the filter is the HD part number - 29244-08 Go the K&N site and punch that into the search. That will cross it over to the K&N part number. Then you can shop for the best price using the K&N part number.

You're going love the way it sticks out and rubs on your leg on long runs. On my new bike I have a stock cover and love it, even if it doesn't help performance.Skyhawk
