Question Swapping passenger back rests on a Tour Pak

I found a fair deal on a SGS with a tour pak, but it's a razor sized pak and not a king, and has the narrow passenger backrest. Can the wrap-around passenger backrest from a king tour pak be mounted onto a razor sized pak?

On a chopped tour pack you can but a razor I don't think you can. Maybe someone else will chime in

I have a HD Brand Chopped, the full size rest requires drilling new holes. Bolt pattern not the same.

But it could be done if drilling is acceptable?

What pak is this; chopped or razor?

That's a chopped. It can be drilled. the holes will be right on the front top corners. I wouldn't want to have to drill them but I'm sure it can be done.

Did not know the couch pad could even be added to the tour pack if it did not come that way. Thank you for starting this thread as it led me to a solution that will make my wife quite happy. My '15 RK came with the large tour pack but no pad, just the standard sissy bar w/pad in front of it. Or am I mistaken based on my sig pic?

It is relatively easy to do. I read on this forum to a great way to line up where to drill the new holes. Worked perfectly for me. Remove the small packrest pad, put blue painters tape on the tourpack, then put toothpaste on the end and of the bolt holes for the King backrest. Lined up the backrest on tour pack. The toothpaste marked the spots on tape where to drill.

@MNRiding , is that a king backrest on a chopped pak? If so, that's EXACTLY what I'm hoping I could do (if I buy that bike). You're the MAN

Yes. It is actually an Advan Black chopped tour pack with the HD king backrest.

Woo HOOOOO!!!!

That actually looks better on the bike than a king pak. I like the sleek look of the Street Glides and would only use the tour pak when she rides along. Otherwise, I'd be riding without the pak. That looks very good on your bike!
