Long Ride Shield's, Road King

Just looking for pro's and con's on recurve windshields , especially Long Ride Shield's for Road Kings. Thanks for your input.

Very happy with the LRS Road King Elite shield I have. I got the 18" size and with the recurve it works better than the stock 19.5" shield.

Really, they work that well. I'm 5'10 and I'm thinking about replacing oem shield and going with a recurve, but I'm a bit concern going with a shorter shield.

Call LRS and talk to them - I believe Matt is the guy you will talk to and he will give you the very best price possible, so good that I may order another shield as a backup, or maybe a darker tint.

That said, I love my LRS recurve on my RK. I put the 16” on mine (I am 5’10”) and it works great. I have clear view over the top, with the ability to look down through it (I got the medium tint). Seat height and style could also change this as well - mine is a stock seat.

This is my second bike that I have put a recurve LRS shield on, and I do believe that the recurve does in fact allow you to use a shorter shield and actually get better air displacement or protection with the shorter shield.

There is still a little buffeting when I wear my half helmet, but none when I wear my full face helmet - but there are numerous threads and discussions you can read about where the source wind potentially comes from that causes head/helmet buffeting - not all buffeting is caused from the airflow over the top of windshields.

I have a RK and put a 16 inch LRS recurve on it and I love it! The OEM was a 20 inch shield and that size I had be looking threw it. The 16 recurve is by far better and it does the job by directing wind up and over my head plus I can now look over the shield! In fact I have two shields a clear and a dark smoke! Get one of these shields you won't regret it!

Before I added a fairing, I got the 19'' recurve ( I believe that is standard height) and was happy with it. FYI, they are an inch narrower than the OEM and I noticed more wind noise on mine......

I bought one too, got it for a song. Mounted it, got a good deal on a Klockwerks and went that route. A brand new Elite Recurve 18'' is in a box in my garage. OP- Make me an offer. I'd love a 16'' to replace it with though for those solo rides, so I'd be up to trade if you have one.

I have the LRS, but will soon be replacing it with a Freedom recurve.

Just bought an 18" for my 2010 RK. I am in the middle of my winter redo and won't have a chance to use it for a while. However, I got to ride my sons Ultra with one while in Cali at his house over Christmas and I was very pleased with it. If it works as good on my RK I will be a happy camper.
