Default Street glide mufflers

Just got a new SGS denium grey and first thing I wanna do is the slip-ons. The thing is way to quite. Trying to figure out which Vance & Hines to go with. I want it louder but not to loud bc I live in a neighborhood and leave for work around 445am. Was looking at the eliminator 400s. Does anyone have these? Thanks in advance.

Don't have the V&H's but I do have these: https://www.twobros.com/products/har...05-4560499d-bs

I had a chance to hear them on a RGS at the dealership and had a set installed before I took delivery of my 2019 RGS. I was looking for something with a much throatier sound at idle with similar sound levels to stock, but with much more bark under throttle. These fit the bill perfectly. I needed that lower sound level at idle because I suffer from an on-again / off-again increased sensitivity to sound and when I start my bike at the beginning of the day it's in the corner of a concrete parking garage. I can stand right next to it without earplugs, even when my ear is acting up, and they produce a great, rich sound compared to stock, but they really know how to announce themselves with a twist of the throttle.

Not sure what year your bike is but
i am selling a set of Vance & Hines 4.5" Hi Output slip ons that will work on 1995-2016 touring. main reason I am selling them is because they are way too quiet at idle. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for a nice deep idle but will bark nicely when you twist the throttle.

Check out my ad here. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-parts/1268643-vance-and-hines-4-5-hi-output-slip-ons.html

I have those exact pipes you mentioned, eleminator 400s. Very nice tone over stock and no, not too loud. I'd recommend them. I have a 2018 SGS

On a previous bike I had Rinehart Classic Tru Duals with their 4' mufflers. Really liked them--but a bit too much noise. On my current 2016 RGU the previous owner had put the V & H HI-OUTPUT mufflers on. Really beautiful with the step up in diameter. And at idle they sounded better than stock and very promising. But, running down the highway I couldn't even hear them, and at high RPM I could just barely hear them. My neighbor, and also a couple of others I know from another forum, put on the V & H Twin Slash Rounds. Perfect! At least for me. A great low rumble at idle and as you increase RPMs you get a really nice sound that everyone who hears it knows it is a Harley but it is not extremely loud and I don't need earplugs like I did with the Rineharts.

I've had V&H High Outputs, and now the V&H Oversized 450s, both on a Limited Ultra. Both nice & deep & throaty. Nice bagger rumble, but not loud unless you want them to be. If you keep using the stock header, they won't be loud. I have V&H Power Duals header, and they're louder with it. High Outputs are 4" diameter. OS450s are 4.5".

The Vance & Hines high output slip-ons are in fact 4.5" in diameter.
