Ordering a tour pack through Harley..BS
So apparently the only way you can get a tour pack is with Crome hinges. Gotta pay another 200 to get black. Kind of a total rip off. Really Harley! Vent over! |
Yep... I was watching a video on youtube where a guy was putting a tour pack on the 115 anniversary denim blue street glide special. That bike only comes blacked out in that color. The hardware for the tour pack in that color was chrome. He had to order separate black hardware.

Well that is what you get for snubbing chrome....lol

I’m surprised to find chrome is the cheaper option between the two. It seems to be the norm. Good for me. I’m still a dinosaur that likes chrome! |
Oh well, it ought to not be like that. BTW ,Chrome is my favorite color...
|
There is this stuff called paint, or powder coat; and it is cheaper than the HD black out items, Plus you don't have a bunch of parts sitting on a shelf or in a box.
|
^^^^This. Im gonna look into powder coat before I purchase black hardware. I’m not even sure why they sell it in chrome . https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...5a426b8c7.jpeg |
You find that odd....the bag leavers on the specials come from the factory chrome. One of the few chrome things on the bike.
And you're not gonna be able to powder coat the tour pak latch. You can't take it apart and there plastic parts in side of it. |

I thought you could but the parts separate. Top lid, bottom box and add what you want. I believe if I scratch my lid, I can buy just the lid. Not sure tho, I like the chrome. Goes good with my black metallic.
