Default FU&*in' Harley Davidson!!!!!!!!
Any secrets to removing the trim ring on a headlight for a 2018 Road King???????? It can't be that hard. Tonight I go to replace the stock halogen with a Custom Dynamics LED headlight. But it is IMPOSSIBLE to get to the bottom screw for the headlight trim ring because it is blocked by the passing lamp support bar. There is absolutely no way I can get a phillips head screwdriver in there at the correct angle with out dicking up the screw. So apparently the passing lamps have to be removed in order to change the headlight? **** poor design. Way to go you friggin' engineering geniuses at Harley.

How about a small Phillips bit and a wrench? Not sure if the 18’s are different but they look like the 09 and I was able to fit it at the right angle. Good luck.

Well.....first you have to start by removing the front wheel, then the fender has to come off, then............that's the way Harley builds things..........lol.

Car manufactures are just as bad. Have to remove the lower fascia of the front bumper to change a headlight. I'm sure the metrics are just as bad. The bit and bit holder sounds like the way to go.

On the older ones, was via one small screw at the bottom of the ring.

Sumpin wrong, I had no trouble removing it from my ‘17 RoadKng. I don’t think they changed the design between ‘17 & ‘19.

Yep, it’s not right. It’s supposed to be a piece of cake. Manual says it’s easy, videos show it easy, but there is no way I’m going to be able to access that screw unless I remove the passing light bar. I think I’m going to forget it, and send the lights back to Custom Dynamics. Just not worth the hassle. This shoulda been a 20 minute job. Thanks to all for your inputs.
