Default My 2019 Glide suspension is terrible!!!

Traded my 18 Heritage in on a 19 Road Glide. My heritage rode like a Lincoln Town Car and my new Glide rides like a stagecoach! I got caught up in the wind protection and tunes and really didn't pay much attention to how it cornered and took road imperfections. The rear has what feels like 1" of travel. I've never had a bike in 30 yrs that popped me off the seat when I hit a small bump in the road. This seems ridiculous for a bike that price that they label as a touring model. I feel like something is defective ....... Anyone else feel this way?

Can anyone offer any advise that doesn't evolve money? I spent it all on the bike!

Try adjusting the preload on your rear shocks, that should help a bit. But even on my 2015 Streetglide, the suspension is on the firm side.

There are a lot of good aftermarket options available. I’m running the legend revo-a, couldn’t be happier. There’s also pro action and ohlins that a lot of people like as well

Save up some bucks, that’s the only way it’s gonna get better

Not trying to sound like a @ick, but a little research would have yielded a lot of info. These bikes are set up lower to the ground to look cool, however, that affects handling. HD uses the lowest priced suspension. I'm getting Ohlins this spring to get the handling more acceptable. Sadly, there is no free cure all for this. Some say getting an HD Hammock seat that is suspended helps, but now your into the cost of new shocks.

Adjust what you have every which way you can.
Free.
If and when that fails, then it becomes a different story.

actually I think my 18 RGS handles very well stock, is it plush? hell no, its harsh for sure, but it does handle fine, and yes a suspension upgrade will get you the plush smooth ride you're after.

Thank you guys for the advice and info! At least I'm not the only one. I have read about adjusting it's just not doing much. Guess I just hoped for what they sell for you'd get a good shock...... oh well.

that's scary, I find it REALLY hard to believe that the stock shock has no damping? and he cut the spring off? does he not have the right tool to just remove it?
