Not sure what to call it ... Dual Shiters?
Has anyone ever rearranged their heel-toe shifter so that both are facing forward; one down low under your toe and one up high above your toe? Seems like it would be much easier than lifting your foot to get on top of the shifter for the down-shift. I'm thinking that the lower shifter should be an extended one to be sure it doesn't bottom out on the footboard; maybe just a tad in front of it. Good idea? Bad idea? Has anyone ever tried this? What would you call that setup?

Or run an extended set, plenty of room to move your feet around
Give it a shot in its intended position. I don’t think that putting them both forward is a good idea .I don’t think it would even fit without hitting the footboard. 1 move on the spline makes a big difference

Yes I have done that on my last several bikes. Only to get the heal shifter out of the way. I don't use the heal shifter. I like to be able to slide my foot back for a change in positions on a long day of riding. I use it to space my toe shifter out away from the crankcase for more room. I don't use it to shift.
It does get a lot of strange looks in the parking lot.

one is designed to slide on inboard the other outboard there probably won’t be room on the spline shaft to allow both to face forward
if you want to use only the front get the spacer that takes up the rear shifters spot on the shaft

That's what I run, single Shifter with chrome spline shaft cap.

That's hilarious! I caught myself missing the f in the body and had to go back and correct nearly all of them. Never thought to look at the title. Too funny!!
Yeah, I don't use the heel shifter either. I think my legs must be too long to get my heel up that high without lifting my whole foot. It's just not a natural move.
I might try shuffling them around and see what would happen. I just figured that there's NO WAY I thought up something you guys have never tried and wanted to benefit from your experience before I did something dangerous or stupid without realizing it. There's a pretty decent looking aftermarket extended shift lever for aboit $40, that I've been eyeing anyway. I wonder it it would make the cut for fit-up.
