taking touring bike out of truck bed

I am wondering how to get Elektra glide out of truck bed chevy 2500 it is pretty tall. 36 inch to tailgate when down. I have ramp and can load here at home but Daytona is really flat and looking for ideas. I know just ride it. back issues make driving truck a strong choice. I love the bike lift, but don't have time to get it if I could afford it. Thanks for the ideas. Any Daytona residents that know of a place to load and unload? we use to go to the Yamaha shop by tomoka farms road, but it 's not a bike shop anymore. thank you.

Destination Daytona or any number of bike dealerships around there should have a place to unload it. including the Indian dealership on Beach St.

Should be plenty of businesses in the area that has some sort of ramp that you can back up to. Drive around once you get there and look around. Ask and unload...

I use this ramp. It's a 10' ramp so depending on your lift, you may need a 12'. They work really, really well.

A friend of mine always used to take his bike down in his truck. He would just look around for a raised berm he could back up too. Didn't have to be very high really. I don't think he even took ramps with him, just dropped the tailgate, backed up to the berm and rode off/on.

You can rent a trailer for $30/day

Uhaul rents a motorcycle specific trailer for $15.00 a day. That's what I use my bike isn't happy and wants to visit my Indy. It pulls really nice, sits very low with a full width ramp. Has a simple wheel chock and multiple tie down points.

Getting a bagger in and out of a pickup truck can be scary.

Good luck!

I would consider the u haul trailer in your case...

u haul trailer is an idea I was pondering. I like the idea of going to dealer and unloading, curious to the cost? I use a berm here at home to load and unload. I don't remember a lot of places down there with berms I never was looking. thanks to all for the ideas.

Find a guy with a delivery truck... usually a straight truck with a big lift gate. Back up to his truck and hand him a 20 to roll it onto the lift gate and drop.
